Request access, correction or deletion1. Who operates the bot and what this policy covers
Good Night Community operates Himiko, application ID 1039688984340742144. This policy covers its Discord music features and the supporting playback, coordination, diagnostic and support services. Himiko works alongside other music bots to provide separate listening sessions in different voice rooms. The Good Night website has a separate website privacy policy.
2. Data used by the current music features
- Discord user, server, channel, message and interaction identifiers, together with relevant display names, channel names and permissions, where needed to respond to requests and coordinate playback.
- Music links, search text and command arguments submitted to the bot, plus resolved track titles, artists, provider identifiers, durations and queue information.
- Voice state metadata, including the voice channel a requester is in and channel joins, departures or moves needed to manage a listening session. The music service plays audio; it does not provide a feature for recording members' conversations.
- Playback status, routing requests, room ownership and diagnostic information needed to coordinate the music bots and investigate failures. Failure logs can include submitted music URLs or search text.
- Information you submit when contacting staff about support or privacy, including your contact details, Discord user ID and the contents of your request.
3. How message content is used and your choices
Current prefix commands use message content to identify the command and resolve the music link or search text you provide. Processing a command does not mean that all conversation is archived, but message-derived values can appear in diagnostic logs when a request fails.
There is currently no per-user setting that opts you out of message-content processing. You can stop submitting requests and contact staff about stored data. Server administrators can restrict the bot's access through Discord channel permissions or remove it from the server. These choices do not automatically delete existing logs.
4. Planned music-sharing and DJ features
Automatic requests from music-sharing channels and role-based DJ updates are proposed features. They have not been implemented. This policy does not describe them as currently collecting data or performing actions.
- The proposed request feature would read supported music links in administrator-selected channels, associate a post with an unplayed queue entry and respond to edits or deletions. It would need the message, requester and channel identifiers and the music link.
- The proposed DJ feature would use configured role identifiers, member identifiers and hosting assignments to respond to role changes made in Discord or a member leaving the server. It would not require presence or activity tracking.
Before either feature is enabled, we will update this policy to describe its actual scope, storage, retention and user controls. Generated interface concepts are illustrations of these plans, not records of a working feature.
5. Why the music service uses data
- To resolve requested tracks, manage queues, control playback and provide autoplay.
- To route a request to an available music bot and keep listening rooms separate.
- To apply command permissions, investigate playback failures and maintain the service.
- To locate relevant records when responding to support, access, correction or deletion requests.
6. Storage outside Discord
The music service stores coordination records and diagnostic logs on Good Night's hosting infrastructure outside Discord. Coordination records can contain requester, server and channel identifiers, channel names, bot identifiers and timestamps. Queues and playback state are also processed during listening sessions. Local failure logs can contain music URLs or search text; we do not claim that all message-derived data is discarded immediately.
7. Service providers and sharing
Discord supplies the events and interactions needed to operate the bot. Music URLs, search terms and track identifiers are sent to the playback and resolution services used for a request, including Lavalink and the relevant enabled music providers. Hosting providers process the data needed to run the infrastructure. Staff handling a support or privacy request may review relevant records. The music service must not sell Discord API data or disclose it to data brokers or advertising networks. Website contact requests are handled as described in the website privacy policy.
8. Retention and deletion
Queue and playback records are used to manage their listening sessions. Temporary panel routing records are eligible for cleanup after about one minute when the cleanup routine runs; this is not a guaranteed deletion deadline. Room ownership records are released as sessions end, but stale records can remain after interrupted operation.
A fixed maximum retention period for all music-bot files, diagnostic logs and backup copies has not been established and verified. Logs can remain after a listening session ends. We do not currently guarantee that all API data or message-derived data is deleted within 30 days. Proposed seven-day logging or backup limits are not current guarantees.
You can request access, correction or deletion through the contact process below. Staff will review the request and explain what can be removed and any relevant limitations, including records still needed to operate the service or address a legal or security issue. This policy does not promise a deletion deadline or backup expiry period that has not been put into operation.
9. Privacy requests and contact
Use the Good Night contact form, select “Privacy request” and use the subject “Himiko data request”. Include your Discord user ID, application ID 1039688984340742144 and whether you are requesting access, correction or deletion. Keep the reference issued after an accepted submission so staff can locate your request.
You can also contact staff through a support ticket in the Good Night Discord server. Staff may need to verify account ownership before releasing or removing records. Do not send passwords, Discord account tokens or other login credentials in a privacy request.
10. Security
The website uses HTTPS. HTTPS protects web traffic in transit; it does not establish that stored bot files or backups are encrypted. Encryption at rest across the music service's storage and backups has not been verified, so this policy does not claim it is in place. Report a suspected privacy or security issue through the contact form. Please avoid including credentials or unrelated private conversations.
11. AI training and minimum age
The music features use links and search text to resolve tracks and operate playback. Training or fine-tuning machine learning or AI models with Discord message content is not an authorized use of this service's data. Autoplay track selection does not authorize using your messages for model training.
The bot is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum age requirements in their country. It is not intended for children below that minimum age.
12. Policy changes
We will update this page when the music service's features or data practices change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. For questions about this policy or a service using Himiko's application identity, use the contact process above.
